UGC NET 2021 Notification & Exam Dates (Out), Application Form, Eligibility & Syllabus

Hello everyone on 2nd February UGC NET exam 2021 dates have been announced by the Education Minister of India, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal. This year National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the next UGC-NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship & eligibility for Assistant Professor on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 & 17 May 2021.
The National Eligibility Test (NET) is mainly conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) for the selection of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges. As we know until June 2018, the NET exam was conducted by CBSE in 84 subjects at 91 cities across the country. But thereafter from December 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
UGC-NET Exam is conducted twice every year. However in 2020 due to the pandemic, the June 2020 examination got delayed and was shifted to September 2020 until November 2020 to cover all the subjects. As well as the December 2020 cycle had to be postponed and is now being conducted in March-April 2021.

Marking Pattern NTA UGC NET 2021 :
• For each correct answer : 2 marks will be given.
• Negative Marking : There will be no negative marking in the paper.

• Starting Date for Apply Online : 02-02-2021
• Last Date to Apply Online : 09-03-2021 (extended)
UGC NET 2021 Eligibility :
Candidates who belong to the following category are eligible to apply for this examination.
• General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Third gender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination
• Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination
Age Limit for UGC NET 2021 :
• For JRF : Not more than 31 years as on 01-03-2021
• For Asst Professor : There is no upper age limit.
• Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
Application Fee of UGC NET 2021 :
• For General/ Unreserved : Rs. 1000/-
• For Other Backward Classes (OBC) – (NCL)/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS) : Rs. 500/-
• For SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender : Rs. 250/-
• Pay fee through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ E-Challan (SBI/ HDFC/ Syndicate/ICICI Payment Gateway)
UGC NET 2021 Syllabus :
• Students can check the complete UGC NET Syllabus from the website. Students will be able to check the detailed syllabus online as per their choice of subjects.
• Paper 1 of UGC NET will be of general nature and prepared to assess the research aptitude /teaching of the candidate.
• Paper 2 will be prepared based on the core subjects or specialization as selected by the candidate. In paper 2 there are total 84 specialization subjects.
